Stories from The Medical Centre

The prevalence of HIV among children aged 0-14 is 0.5% which corresponds to approximately 95,000 children living with HIV in Uganda.

Many of these kids attend weekly medical checks at their local clinics to pick up free medication. In Gulu, Tuesday morning is the time set aside by the hospital specifically for kids to receive their treatment. Thanks to your continued support we can make Tuesdays FUN at our local clinic. Colouring, balloon modelling, card games pass the long appointment wait AND, even more than this, the kids are wanting to attend each week. Patient consistency has been a huge challenge yet essential to keeping this terminal illness under control.

So essentially the appointments are being kept! Fantastic news we are so delighted about.

We are also developing a feeding programme to provide a nutritional breakfast meal.

In our ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of care and comfort for our community, we embarked on a small refurbishment project at the medical centre aimed at brightening up the interior space to include a fresh coat of paint to promote a clean, welcoming environment conducive to providing exceptional patient care.
