Let’s play!

Our skateboarding outreach continues to THRIVE!

“When kids in our programmes experience love and belonging, those feelings spread to everyone around.”- Janine Robinson

We are bringing kids of all ages together twice a week for a couple of hours fun. It’s an irresistible distraction from the day to day challenges faced by these kids. Right on the edge of town, it attracts over 100 kids and gives us the perfect opportunity to chat and get to know these little hero’s who live in our community.

We believe recreational activities reduce stress and anxiety, and in Gulu Uganda where so much hardship is apparent, recreational opportunities for children are scarce.

We continue to run our programme every Thursday afternoon, providing 30 boards, free to use, to around 100 children. We’ve been so blessed to see these children learn and grow through play and exercise.

We believe that sport is a really important part of learning and growing up! Understanding your place in the world is a real fundamental way of understanding who you are. Sports develop important skills in learning: setting goals, being committed to a process, discovering who you are, learning to interact with the world, finding your purpose, believing in yourself ... the list is endless.
